The term “Paintings Within You” best describes for me what it is to paint Intuitively. It is an exploration of what already lies within you, but maybe hasn’t had a chance to be expressed. This website is about the process that I follow, and would like to share with you.
The nuts and bolts of Intuitive Painting is a moment by moment experience of responding to colour and an inner nudge to move your brush. You experience freedom to express what comes to you in the moment.
In a world full of rules, regulations, academic standards, policies for everything, we can spend our whole lives guessing at how to live “properly”, striving to achieve something “out there”.

Who am I?
Hello, my name is Mary Harrison. I am a retired Special education teacher, living in Ballinderreen, Co Galway. I have always been interested in Art in all forms, and more recently in how art and creativity is innate in all of us. Art is healing, and I am interested in helping you access again that powerful expressive tool that is innate in all of us.
My fascination with creativity led me to many teachers and courses over a lifetime, and eventually to Intuitive Painting and Michele Cassou, who developed a method of facilitating people to strengthen their links to their own inner creative energy and power. I have trained as a facilitator in Intuitive Painting and continue to do my own work, with Michele’s students Cherie Ray (True You Creativity) and Kathrin Frankenberg, (Malfredue-Atelier)
Where am I?
Workshops take place in my studio at Ballinderreen, Co Galway. We live on the edge of the beautiful Burren landscape, close to Kinvara, South County Galway.
Being creative is innate in all humans. Being creative is a tool that is freely available to all for a healthy, vital and meaningful life. It transcends our ordinary lives and lets us imagine what is possible.
Why would you paint intuitively?
When you paint intuitively, you drop the conditioning and expectations of others, and connect with your own authentic feelings and insights.
When you paint intuitively, you get to express yourself, without limits or judgements, in a safe space.
When you paint intuitively, you bypass language and thinking, and engage the currency of soul wisdom.
The Power of Painting
Life changing events such as separation, retirement, loss of a partner, moving house, can leave us feeling isolated, disconnected, without a sense of purpose. Our minds can compensate these difficult feelings with busy thinking, and confusion.
Intuitive Painting is a beautiful way to quieten the mind, release difficult thoughts and emotions, and clear the lens through which you experience life.
When you develop the muscle of intuition, you increase capacity to be present, to live in the flow of life, and to tap into the creative energy that is in all of us.
